Found
Contributor The Wreath Is On Loan From Elsie Jane Homer Graff, Her Daughter.
Description This hair flower wreath was made by Juliette "Ette" McMurray Homer. The wreath has been known for a long time as Grandma's Hair Flower. Ette was born in Grantsville in 1869. She was the daughter of early Grantsville settlers. Ette's mother, Mary Ann Hudson arrived at the age of 7 with her father, Wilford H. Hudson, in 1852. Ette's father, Charles "K" McMurray came to Grantsville in 1853 or 1854 at the age of 16. Ette made the wreath as a girl form the hair of friends and family. She always remembered whose hair was in each flower and she lived to be 95 years old. The wreath was one of her greatest treasures. Ette married Benjamin King Homer and they had 1 daughter and 7 sons.
